KISHTWAR : Panic gripped in Watna Dhar village (popularly known as Loidhar) of Tehsil Mugal-Maidaan in Kishtwar District, after a leopard strayed into the village last night and killed six cattle.
The incident occurred last night, when a leopard reportedly attacked a herd of cattle, killing six of them in Loidhar village in Tehsil Mugal-Maidaan of District Kishtwar, triggering fear among the villagers.
The cattle belonged to Kunj Lal Son of Thaker Dass Resident of Watna Dhar. The villagers alleged that the Wildlife Department authorities were being negligent despite informing them several times about the presence of leopards in the area. People have urged the district administration for granting compensation in favour of owner keeping in view the loss suffered by him.
