Legislators laud Govt efforts for kick-starting new era of development in J&K

JAMMU: The Legislative Assembly today took up the discussion on Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s address. The Motion was moved by the Legislator Muhammad Yusuf Bhat and seconded by Sat Paul Sharma. Moving the Motion, Muhammad Yusuf Bhat supported the Governor’s address, saying that the Government has taken various measures to connect far-flung areas of the State. He said efforts taken in this regard have boosted the rural economy and is further proving beneficial for the people of the State.
Shah Muhammad Tantray while criticizing the opposition for adopting lackadaisical approach towards the holistic development of the State said it was unfortunate how State’s development process became victim of wrong politics. He lauded the Government for initiating several welfare measures for bringing peace and prosperity and improving the socio-economic profile of the State.
Ravinder Raina said the Government is sincere in providing all possible support to the people and reaching out to the people affected due to conflict and various calamities across the State. He said the people have better understanding of the issues and have shown confidence in the working of the Government. While participating in the discussion, Chowdhary Qamar Hussain said it was satisfactory to learn how Government reached out to the various areas of the State with developmental schemes for uplifting the socio-economic condition of the people especially weaker sections of the society.
He said the former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed had a vision to incorporate all the stakeholders on addressing the Kashmir issue.
Abdul Rahim Rather said the Government tackled the situation during unrest in Kashmir in an utmost professional way. He appealed the opposition members not to disrupt the proceedings of the House and allow business to continue for the welfare of the people of the State. Daleep Singh Parihar said the people of the state are getting benefits from the various schemes launched by the Government and have been instrumental in uplifting the socio-economic profile of the people. He lauded the State and Central Government for undertaking the survey for Jammu-Poonch railway project. Jeevan Lal said there is a remarkable improvement in the educational scenario across the State and the present dispensation deserves credit for holding the examinations in Valley in spite of the disturbed situation. Rajesh Gupta complimented the Government for initiating the programmes for undertaking the holistic and need based development on modern lines of the twin capital cities of the State. Pawan Kumar Gupta criticized the opposition parties for disrupting the business of the House. He said Jammu and Kashmir needs holistic development and all the members of the House should work collectively for the development of the State.
