UDHAMPUR: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J and K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held on Sunday under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, District President of the Forum. In the meeting, the speakers demanded that the process of transfer should be streamlined and in any case, completed during summer/winter breaks, transfers be effected on the basis of subject need and strength of schools. They said that the process of transfer was scheduled to be completed before the 31st July, this year but 31st August is fast approaching and the lecturers sre still waiting for their transfer orders. They demanded that transfer orders be strictly issued according to the Transfer Policy issued by the department. They demanded that the orders be issued at the earliest to clear the atmosphere of uncertainty so that proper attention can be focussed on the academic activities in the schools. They also flayed the JKBOSE for not clearing the bills of remuneration of exams, both theory and practical and demanded that bills be cleared at the earliest. They demanded that result of evaluation be declared in a time bound manner and every facility including the facility of obtaining eligibility/migration certificates should be available in the sub offices of JKBOSE. The members also demanded the implementation of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Com-mission in the state as many other states have done. They also demanded that earned leave in favour of those lecturers, masters and teachers, who taught in the extra classes during summer vacations be sanctioned at the earliest and necessary entries made in their service books. Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma appreciated the participants for their views and urged the government to consider their suggestions for the overall improvement of teaching learning process in the schools. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Ram Murti, Bishan Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Luxmi Kant, Joginder Gupta, Parjesh Kumar, Rakeshwar Sharma, Ravi Kanchan, Rajinder Kumar and Veena Rani.
