Lecture on ‘Endangered Markhor’ held

THANAMANDI: As a part of Wild Life Week celebrations, NSS Unit of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi organised a special lecture on the topic ‘Endangered Markhor’. Prof. Saleem Ayaz Rather HoD Zoology and Programme Officer NSS was the Resource Person on the occasion. Prof. Saleem Spoke at length on the present status of Markhor which is facing extinction as the animal is under constant threat of poachers that kill the animal for skin, horn, meat and fur.
Principal of the College Dr. B.B Sharma appreciated NSS Unit of the College for organising such programmes which is the need of the hour . Prof. A. R Qadri also addressed the students . Staff members and large number of students were present on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Mohd Nayeem Lecturer Persion while vote of thanks was presented by Gohar Aarzoo Chaand student of B.SC part II.
