Lecture on drug-abuse organised at JKPS Kunjwani

JAMMU: A lecture on drug-abuse by Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu was organised in the JK Public School’s auditorium.
Deepak Kumar and C.S Rathore, Intelligence Officers, Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu conducted the workshop for the students of Class XI and XII. The students were apprised the ill- effects of drugs. He said that most of the youngsters at their adolescent age start taking drugs in fun which leads them to addiction and ruins them mentally and physically. These drugs have a sedative effect on their immune system.
Circumstances in which an individual may resort to taking of drugs are many -peer pressure and stress of studies being the most rampant.
Students were told that drugs of any kind contribute towards danger, that may lead to various types of incurable diseases and ultimately death.
Brig. Sukhdev Singh, Director JK Educational Society thanked the team of Narcotic Control Bureau for sharing important information with the students. He exhorted the students not to indulge in bad company or succumb to any pressure. He advised them that should they find themselves in any trouble because of drugs, they must confide in their parents immediately.
