Lawyer fraternity accords farewell to Shahid Iqbal

JAMMU: The lawyer fraternity apart from dignitaries and citizens of the area of district Kathua accorded a warm send off to Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, outgoing DDC Kathua. The work of the outgoing DDC Dr. Shahid Iqbal was not only appreciated but lauded by everyone with a specific reference to his excellent matchless performance during his short tenure as DDC, Kathua, which beat 40 years old record of the erstwhile DDCs.
In the short tenure, Dr. Shahid Iqbal did memorable and indelible work which will be remembered in the coming decades. The legal fraternity in the farewell address highlighted that prior to the tenure of Dr. Shahid Iqbal as DDC, Kathua, the condition of Court Complex was not only worse, but pitiable and the Advocates and litigants were suffering badly and Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kathua, Vinod Chatterji Koul, took personal initiatives time and again, persuaded the District Administration to improve the condition of the court, which was seriously addressed by the outgoing DDC Dr. Shahid Iqbal and now a beautiful look is given to the Court Complex, Kathua, with the result not only the Advocates, but the litigants had a sigh of relief and comfort.
President, Bar Association, Kathua, Balbir Singh Kapoor, while speaking on the occasion, felt sorry on the premature transfer of a capable, honest and a hardworking Officer, which the District had after a long span of time. The Advocates of Kathua Bar anticipated the same enthusiasm from the new incumbent, who had replaced Dr. Shahid Iqbal and further expected that the new DDC Kathua will follow the footsteps of the outgoing DDC and shall continue with the initiatives taken by Dr. Shahid Iqbal for the prosperity and betterment of the people of District Kathua.
Senior Advocates Lok Nath Sangra, Sat Paul Sharma, Thakur Dewan Singh, Satish Chander Sharma, Neelam Sharma, B.B Bhagotra, Sham Saroop Gupta, Subash Sharma, Nidhi Sharma and others were present in the farewell function.
