Lathi-charge on students condemned

JAMMU: Reacting to the Lathi charge on the students who were protesting against the out of pattern Physics paper for class 12, State Spokesperson of the Party, Brigadier Anil Gupta has blamed Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) for the lapse and demanded that BOPEE must come out with the facts and explain as to how it all happened? The deliberate silence on part of the BOSE is creating a suspicion that it was done with the concurrence of the concerned officials. The onus lies with the Chairman BOSE to come out with the truth.
Brig Gupta also strongly condemned the lathi charge on the protesting students many of whom were young girls.
“Such high handedness of the local SHO is not only deplorable but deserves severe action against him. Brig Gupta said that the party while condemning the act is hopeful that suitable action will be taken against the defaulter policemen by the Director General of Police.
All J&K Plus-2 Lecturers’ Forum also condemned the use of force/Lathi-charge on students protesting against the JKBOSE and said the young students should have been handed delicately.
Working President of the Forum, Deepak Sharma said that there should be fixed calendar for training of teachers and should be held during summer/winter vacations only and practice of trainings being conducted during peak session especially in examination period should be discontinued. He also assailed the government decision to debar the government teachers from promotion who have acquired their B.Ed Degrees through distance mode even from University of Jammu and University of Kashmir after getting due permission from higher authorities.
