Land dispute turns violent in Jammu, man opens fire on brother

JAMMU: A dispute over land in the Lale Da Bagh area, under the jurisdiction of Domana Police Station in Jammu, escalated when one individual opened fire on his brother with a revolver.
The gunfire caused a brief panic in the area, with locals reacting to the sudden violence. Authorities were quickly notified, and police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident occurred. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media, capturing a violent land dispute in Lale Da Bagh area.
Police said, the incident, occurred on February 1, involving confrontation over 21.5 marlas of land between Rekha Devi and Brij Raj Singh, the brother of the land’s previous owner, Brij Bhushan Singh Jamwal. During the altercation, Brij Raj Singh allegedly fired three shots from a firearm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, police said.
FIR 31/2025 has been registered at Domana Police Station under sections 109, 191(2), 329(3) BNS, and 3/25 of the Arms Act. The police has arrested one accused in this connection so far while two others are still absconding.
