Land allotted to BPL families, encroached by Gujjars

KATHUA : A deputation of BPL families led by BJP District President Kathua Girdhari Lal Dogra met the District Development Department (DDC) Kathua on Thursday against grabbing of their land by five Gujjar families.
The BJP leader told DDC that 58 BPL families were allotted 5 Marlas of land to each one of them for residential purpose in 2012 out of the available State land in Ward No 10, Raj Bagh, Kathua. The Revenue Department had not handed over the possession of this land to the BPL families, the Gujjar families from different areas who are involved in smuggling of bovines, have illegally grabbed this land.
Dogra requested the DDC to visit the area and issue suitable orders for the eviction of illegal occupants and the land be handed over to the BPL families to whom this has been allotted for the last four years.
The members of BPL families who were present in the deputation include , Bishan Dass, Sham Lal, Joginder Pal, Mohan Lal, Suresh Kumar, Parshotam Lal, Prem Chand, Subash Chander, Raj Kumr, Shashi Pal, Parshotam Ram, Kanta Devi, Pushpa Devi, Asha Devi and Rani.
