LAHDC lauds Govt for approving Rs 561 crore for Leh

LEH: Executive Councillor for Agriculture/Rural Development, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh extended gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for sanctioning of Detailed Project Report of Leh District amounting to Rs 561 crore under (PMKSY) Prime Minister Krishi Sanchai Yojana and for the release of first installment under the scheme. A statement issued from the office of the Executive Councillor on Monday said that as per the direction of Executive Councillor, Agriculture/RDD Tsering Wangdus Committee was earlier constituted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Leh Prasana Ramaswamy consisting of Heads of Department which include Agriculture, Horticulture, Command Area Development, Soil Conservation, Irrigation and Flood Control Division, Forest and Rural Development Department and accordingly prepared a Detailed Project Report of Rs.561 crore within a short span of time and submitted to State Government for onward submission to Centre for proper approval/funding.
It added that on the direction of State Government, Chief Agriculture Officer, who is also the Member Secretary of(PMKSY) Krishi Sandia’ Yojana gave a presentation in office Chamber of State Agriculture Minister, Civil Secretariat Jammu and State Government accordingly approved the same and sent it to Centre for proper approval.
Wangdus also extended his heartfelt gratitude to MP Ladakh Thupstan Chhewang, J and K Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs, Chhering Dorjay Lakruk, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Leh Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo for their personal interventions for timely approval and release of the first installment under PMKSY.
He hoped that this would go a long way in benefiting the farmers of Ladakh in particular and it will change the overall scenario of agriculture in Ladakh in general.
