JAMMU: The Home Department, Government of UT Jammu & Kashmir, on Tuesday promoted Laeeq Ahmad Dar, Aejaz Ahmad Bhat and Sunita Kargotra as Directors of Prosecution in the Prosecution Department, J&K.
Home Department also accorded sanction to the promotion of 18 Chief Prosecuting Officers as Deputy Directors Prosecution. The promotes include Aijaz Ahmad Wani, Sanjay Kohli, Mumtaz Saleem Mir, Anil Mangotra, Jawaid Ahmad Khawaja, Ab. Majid Bhat, Kishore Kumar Bandral, Shaheen Ahmad Khan, Maqbool Hussain, Rajesh Gill, Ranjit Bahadur Bandral, Rajesh Bakshi, Ajay Kumar, Mohd Saleem, Vijay Sudan, Anil Kumar Gandotra, Syed Jahangir Ahmad and Ranjeev Kumar.
The order issued by the department states, Laeeq Ahmad Dar, presently posted as Joint Director, Crime Branch J&K, is a highly decorated officer of the Prosecution Department with outstanding APRs throughout his service career. He is a recipient of the DGP Commendation Medal, Sher-e-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service, and the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. He has also remained associated with various committees of the Home and Police Departments and has served as a member of several Police Recruitment Boards.
Aejaz Ahmad Bhat, presently posted as Joint Director, Prosecution Headquarters J&K, is a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service and has an unblemished service record. The officer is retiring on 31 January 2026. Sunita Kargotra, presently posted as Joint Director, Prosecution ACB J&K, has an outstanding service career and is known for her integrity, dedication, and professionalism.
