REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu organised farmers training programme on “Electronic media in rural development” at village Chamayara of Reasi District.
More than 35 farmers/farm women participated in the programme. Dr. Banarsi Lal, KVK scientist gave detailed account of different electronic gadgets like internet, television, radio, video conferencing, audio conferencing etc. He informed the farmers that electronic media can play immense role in rural development and made the farmers aware that with the use of electronic media farmers can use the new agricultural technologies at their farms. He suggested the farmers that they should watch the agricultural based programmes like Krishi Darshan which is telecast from Delhi Doordarshan and also from Jammu Doordarshan. He informed the farmers on Jammu Doordarshan experts speak on agricultural problems in local dialect. He made the farmers aware that such type of programmes are telecast, broadcast from TV and radio stations at the evening time when the farmers are free from their work. He further narrated that in such type of programmes the telecasters/broadcasters invite the agricultural experts for the agricultural based guidelines. The farmers can ask their quarries to these experts. In this training programme many quarries were raised by the farmers which KVK scientist answered in a very satisfactorily way. Various Panchs and Sarpanchs of the area were present.
