KVK imparts awareness on CSS in agriculture

DODA: To sensitise the farmers about different schemes in agriculture, an awareness programme on Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in agriculture was conducted by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Doda, under the guidance of Directorate of Extension SKUAST-Jammu for the farmers, farm women and youth of village Poneja of District Doda. The programme was organized by Dr Narinder Paul and Dr GN Jha, scientists from KVK Doda SKUAST Jammu.
Dr Narinder Paul, sensitised the participants about different ongoing Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in agriculture for strengthening agriculture sector and welfare of the farming community including National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology (NMAET), Rashtrya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), Soil Health Card Scheme, Kissan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY), Kissan Call Centres etc.
Dr G.N Jha, insisted upon the farmers to avail benefits of these schemes for maximisation of income and employment. He emphasised upon the Prime Minister’s mission of ‘More crop, Per drop’ which has been proposed to be fulfilled through Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY)with the basic objective of ‘Har Khet ko Paani’, harnessing rain water at micro-level through ‘Jal Sacchey’ and ‘Jal-Sinchan’.
Participants showed keen interest in the programme and had an interactive session regarding criterion and crops for PMFBY in the district, time of contacting Kissan Call Centres, method of taking soil sample etc, the replies to which were given. Farmers who attended the programme were Sandesh Kumar, Om Prakash, Vinod Kumar, Amit Kumar, Neelam Devi, Oma Devi, Yash Paul, Vishwa Nath and other farmers of the village. Programme ended with vote of thank by Suresh Kumar Ex-Naib Sarpanch of the Panchayat.
