DODA: Irfan Ahmed’s brilliant 61-run inning helped Kupwara Eleven to register win against Royal Strikers (RS) Kolkata by nine wickets in the ongoing All India 12th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2016 held at Sports Stadium Doda.
The tournament is being organised by Young Star Cricket Club Doda in collaboration with Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier, RS Kolkata, batting first after winning the toss, set a target of 142 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Rishab was the top scorer with 55 runs while Balram added 22 runs to the total.
For, Kupwara Eleven, Riyaz picked three wickets while Umar Mir took two.
In reply, Kupwara Eleven managed to chase the target in 12.4 overs for the loss of one wicket. Irfan played a powerful knock of 61 runs while Ajaz Ahmed also smashed 52 for the team. For RS Kolkata, Poras took a lone wicket.
Irfan Ahmed of Kupwara Eleven team was declared as Man of the Match for his best batting performance who was given prize by Chief Guest Sr Cricketer Najeeb Fani along with Chief Advisor YSCC Doda Dr Tariq Masood, Manager YSCC Doda Mehboob Kraipak and Dr Akhtar Sohail.
The match was officiated by Munish Zutshi, Bharat Jajuriya, Rinku Bhaduria and Ashok Sharma.
