Krishan Leela, kite flying marks Janamashtami

JAMMU: Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana on Wednesday celebrated Shri Krishan Janmashtami with full religious enthusiasm.
The celebrations began with lighting of ceremonial lamp by Ruchi Charak(Trustee) and Anita Bhatia (Principal). Students came dressed in the colourful attires as Lord Krishna, Radha and Gopis to commemorate the human incarnation of Lord Krishna. The students also danced to Bhajans and devotional songs.
The school organised a special event to educate children about the significance of the festival. The students were familiarised with customs and rituals followed on Janmashtami.
Later, Dahi Handi ceremony, signifying Lord Krishna’s love for milk and butter, was also performed in which students participated with zeal.
Small toddlers of Lawrence Public School, Panjtirthi and Sidhra Branches celebrated Janamashtami in the school premises. Toddlers came dressed up as Radha, Krishna, Yashodha Maiya, Gopi to present a skit depicting scenes from Lord Krishna’s birth till Raasleela.
Several entertaining competitions and games were held and kids who were beautifully dressed in Lord Krishna’s attire were awarded.
Moreover, the event became super exciting when one minute show was organised which included many events like balloons blowing, eating butter, tie-untie yourself etc.
The senior students participated in Dahi Handi breaking by forming a human pyramid. Shakuntla Joshi, Founder Principal, Lawrence Public School, congratulated all the students on this auspicious occasion.
Nand Public Kindergarten, Durga Nagar Jammu celebrated Shri Krishan Janamashtami in its school campus on Thursday in which students and teachers participated.
Students presented colourful cultural programmes to mark the occassion. Principal of the Institution, Sujata and Managing Director Parmjeet Singh distributed prizes and sweets to the participants. Rohini, Jullie and Seema all teachers were present on the occasion.
