STATE TIMES NEWS
NEW DELHI: Describing the upcoming elections in J and K as a crucial turning point in the political history of State, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh said that wherever we are and whichever part of the country we live, as long as we are bonafide citizens of the J and K, it is our responsibility towards nation and the next generation of countrymen to caste the vote for a change and contribute in reproducing in J and K, the BJP model of governance seen in other States ruled by the party.
Singh appealed to Kashmiri Pandit voters living outside the Valley to ensure that they vote in full strength and not allow even a single vote go waste. For sorting out the issues of postal ballot paper or M-Form, he said, the BJP Headquarters in New Delhi at 11 Ashoka Road have already constituted a team of active Karyakartas who are in the process of collecting information/data of various displaced families living in NCR Delhi and elsewhere.
Jitendra was addressing an election meeting of Kashmiri Pandits in Gurgaon organised by Kashyap Kashmir Sabha. He was accompanied by well known Hindi and Punjabi actor of Kashmir origin Preeti Sapru.
Singh said that a team of young active youth from the displaced community will start functioning from tomorrow itself and its main objective will be to coordinate and facilitate the exercise of franchise by displaced members of the community.
Being a highly literate and diligent community, Singh suggested that activists of the community should not confine their campaign only within the community but should also reach out to the non-Kashmiri sections of Jammu and Kashmir State living in Delhi and elsewhere, and motivate them to cast their votes. Similar exercise to facilitate casting of vote by J and K voters is also being undertaken in Bengaluru, Pune and other parts of the country, he informed.
