KP organisations condemn attack on Kheer Bhawani pilgrims

JAMMU: All Samaj Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) and Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) on Sunday condemned the attack on Kheer Bhawani bound pilgrims at Khannabal area in Anantnag.
Addressing a meeting of ASKPC members, its President Advocate Ravinder Raina said that the Pandora Box of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti stands broken and real face of Kashmiriyat is exposed through this heinous act of stone pelters since pilgrims should have been greeted with flowers received stones and bricks.
“The dignified return and rehabilitation of KPs claimed by so called separatists and the elected leaders had proved hollow and hoax. During the month of Ramadan, this unholy act exposed the real face of majority community which is being patronised by the government agencies”, he added.
General Secretary ASKPC Dr T.K Bhat cautioned the administration not to allow these forces to go scot free and demanded stringent action. Vice President C.L Bhat, R.K Wangnoo, S.K Raina, B.L Handoo, Veena Gurtoo and Ravi Raina President Youth Wing also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) also condemned the brutal stone attack on Kashmiri Pandit pilgrims.
President KPC Kundan Kashmiri said that PDP-BJP Government in the State has totally failed to protect the interests of minorities particularly Kashmiri Pandits.
He alleged that law and order machinery has failed to provide foolproof security to KP pilgrims despite repeated requests by KPC and other KP organizations.
KPC Chief cautioned the Government as well as anti-national and anti-Hindu elements, not to provoke peace loving people of KP community otherwise it would prove counterproductive for them. He demanded comprehensive security cover to all Yatris as well as all KPs residing in the valley, in particular PM package employees residing in various camps in the valley.
Members of Kashmiri Pandits Sabha (KPS) also expressed anguished over the conduct of the separatist supporters who showed absolute intolerance towards minorities especially Kashmiri Pandits by attacking the vehicles of the Kheer Bhawani Yatries at Khanabal and Ganderbal.
The ethnic cleansing agenda of Pak sponsored militants and their over ground supporters is fully visible and the Sabha condemned it vehemently, they said.
They appealed to the government and the security forces to provide full protection to the lives of the Yatris and come down heavily on the perpetrators of violence against them.
Earlier, they also performed Holy Jyesth Ashtami Pooja in the temple premises at Ambphalla.
