KISHTWAR: Kishtwar Co-urt granted 10 days police remand of all the three youths arrested by the Kishtwar Police under sedition charges during last few days.
According to reports, Kishtwar Police produced all the three youths namely Ajaiz Ahmed Kelam son of Nazir Ahmad Kelam (Govt employee) resident of Fareedia Road Kishtwar, Firdous Ahmad Baghwan son of Khurshid Ahmad Baghwan resident of Baghwan Mohallah Kisht-war and Syed Asif son of Manzoor Ahmed resident of Tund Kishtwar before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kishtwar Balbir Singh Jaswal, who after going through the details of the case, granted 10 days police remand of all the three accused for further investigation into the case.
“Besides these three youths, two people namely Abdul Qayoom Mattoo and Saif-ud-Din Baghwan were booked under PSA and both are presently lodged in Jammu’s Kot Balwal Jail,” a police official said.
It is notable that Kishtwar Police has launched a major crack-down on people involved in anti-India and pro-freedom protests during last more than 80 days in Kishtwar District in support of ongoing Kashmir unrest.
Meanwhile normalcy limped back in Kishtwar District after no fresh arrest took place in the district.
However, Traders Asso-ciation (TA) Kishtwar decided to open their shops after taking various stakeholders on board as there is no justification to go ahead with the call of shutdown after police stopped mid-night raids in the district for arresting the youths involved in anti-India protests.
The day curfew was lifted from the entire district, as per the officials of the administration and police, the night curfew will remain in place till further order.
