Khour Rape Case: Woman SPO denied bail

JAMMU: Presiding Officer, Fast Track Court Kishore Kumar on Saturday rejected the bail application of SPO Mamta Kumari who was allegedly involved in much publicized Khour Rape case in which the then SHO of Khour Police Station is also allegedly involved.
According to the police case , on May 10, complainant filed a complaint before SDPO, Akhnoor stating therein that she had gone on her own with one Vicky Kumar on October 27, 2015 in order to solemnise marriage with him and went to Katra and remained there on that day and on October 28, 2015. They went to Akhnoor Court and solemnized marriage there and again went back to Katra.
Same day in the evening, her husband, Vicky Kumar received a phone call from her cousin, who had deposed that police of police  post, Pallanwala had held the father of her husband (i.e. father of Vicky Kumar) and officers of police post werecalling both of them there.
On October 29, 2015, they went to police post, Pallanwala and came to know that her father had lodged a complaint against her husband (i.e. Vicky Kumar) and on the same day police had taken them to Police Station, Khour. Police arrested her husband and woman police took her to her residential quarter. That night the lady SPO asked her to go to the room of SHO and obey the orders. “But I did not agree with her and did not went to the room of SHO”, she added.
Thereafter, next day, they remained lodged in Police Station, Khour and in the night the lady PSO took her to the room of SHO Police station, Khour. “When I reached the room, the SHO switched off the lights and forcibly raped me,” the complainant alleged.
The court observed that the offence, allegedly committed by the accused, is very heinous and if he is released on bail at this stage, the confidence of common man shall be shattered. With these observations, the Court rejected the bail application of the accused.
