Khour border migrants rehabilitated at Gurah Jagir under PMDRP: Bukhari

SRINAGAR: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari on Tuesday said that under Prime Minister’s Development And Reconstruction Plan, the border migrants of 21 villages of Niabat Khour, Tehsil Akhnoor were rehabilitated during 2006-07 at Gurah Jagir in Akhnoor.
Replying to a question by Dr Krishan Lal in the Legislative Assembly, the minister said that proprietary land measuring 2,278 Kanals and 10 Marlas at a cost of Rs 4.43 crore were acquired out of which 5 Marlas each per family were provided free of cost along with an amount of Rs 50,000 in two equal installments for construction of two room tenements.
He said that other facilities like drinking water, drainage, roads, electricity etc were also provided. He said that at present funds to the tune of Rs 91.25 lakh on account of acquisition of land and Rs 15.75 lakh on account of payment for construction of two room tenements is available with sub-district magistrate Akhnoor.
