JAMMU: MLC Charanjeet Singh Khalsa inaugurated the long drain work along the road and Pulli in Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Nagar, Bye-pass Jammu in the presence of a large number of local residents at a cost of Rs 7 lakh.
The residents of GTB Nagar had been running from pillar to post since long for the construction of this drain but no one came to their help till yesterday. This drain water had damaged the entire road and caused great inconvenience to the public. A deputation of residents led by BJP leader Harbhajan Singh approached Khalsa with the problem who readily accepted their demand and released an amount of Rs 7 lakh out of his CDF for the purpose.
Addressing the big gathering of people, Khalsa said that he is always available for the genuine developmental works out of the funds available with him in his CDF. He said that out Government is strictly following the Prime Minister’s slogan of ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas’. Harbhajan Singh thanked MLC Khalsa for acceding to their long-ignored demand and assured him that the residents of the colony owe their full support to BJP. Prominent among others include Gurcharan Singh (Retd Session Judge), G.M Tantray, Charanjit Singh Bali, President GPC, Ragbir Singh and Paramjit Singh.
