JAMMU: Beating MBS Club Simbal Camp 4-3, Khalsa Club Gole Gujral clinched the title trophy of Baba Fateh Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament which was organised by Hockey
Jammu and Kashmir at K K Hakku Stadium, here on Saturday.
While Ranveet Singh opened the account for the winning side sounding the board in the 10th minute, Jagjeet Singh struck twice in 28th and 38th minutes to help the side take invincible lead. Other goal came through Satvir Singh in the 55th minute.
However, trailing 3-0, MBS Club fought back scoring three goals after the breather but it was too late to recover from the early jolts. Ramandeep Singh netted the ball for two back to back goals in the 40th and 50th minutes but could not guide his side to victory.
Satwant Singh was other scorer, who beat the goalkeeper in the 58th minute. Today’s final was officiated by the technical panel comprising Jagjeet Singh, Iqbal Singh, Joginder Singh, Vijay Vaid and M.S Reen (Tournament Director).
In the final and valedictory function, former MLC, T.S Wazir was Chief Guest, who presented the winners and runners-up trophies. He advised the players, especially those practicing hockey, to put in their best in the game so as to get away from the bad habits and other prevailing evils in the society.
