“Punjab faces threat from foreign forces”
STATE TIMES NEWS
PATIALA: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday strongly condemned foreign based anti-national forces for trying to disrupt social harmony and peace in Punjab and expressed his serious concern at the Bhagwant Mann’s government’s failure to contain such elements.
Addressing media persons after paying obeisance at the Mata Kali temple, Chugh said the culture and history of Punjab is of social harmony and mutual amicability.
“But there have been persistent attempts by foreign forces to disturb the communal harmony and create a social divide”, Chugh said, asking the AAP government to keep a close watch on such forces.
Such divisive forces have been trying to ignite divisive forces by spreading a false and misleading narrative about Hindus and Sikhs, Chugh said.
Taking a dig at the Bhagwant Mann government, Chugh regretted that in every sphere of the state administration a calculated attempt was being made to “fix AAP leaders from Delhi”.
He said even in religious bodies Delhi-based AAP leaders were being accommodated as if there were no leaders in Punjab.
Chugh took strong exception to how Delhi AAP leader Vibhav Kumar, who has been on bail in the case of assaulting a senior woman AAP leader Swati Maliwal, has been accommodated in Punjab Chief Minister’s office as a Principal Secretary.
He said it clearly demonstrates how Arvind Kejriwal has been rewarding AAP leaders who have no respect for women and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is playing second fiddle to Kejriwal.
Chugh warned the Bhagwant Mann government against such moves which would send disturbing signals to the Punjab officials.
