KCites win Invitational Football Tournament

JAMMU: Host KC International School won an Invitational Football Tournament defeating Jodhmal Public School in the final played on Sunday in the school ground, here.
The match started with a tough competition, but soon KCIS got a penalty shoot-out and scored their first goal. After a tough battle between the two teams KCIS emerged the winner as Jodhamal was not able to score any goal in the stipulated time.
The last few minutes of the game were nail biting when Jodhamal was able to grab a penalty kick, but the goalkeeper of KCIS well defended and prevented a goal.
Earlier the tournament in which six schools of the city participated was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Narender Gupta, former Member of J and K State Sports Council in the presence of Vice Chairman of the School, Chaitanya Chowdhary, Principal, Maya Mishra, Headmistress, Kesar Patel and the parents. To cheer the team and wish them luck, Principal, Maya Mishra sported the same jersey which team KCIS was wearing while participating in the tournament.
The team members Captain-Rudish Salathia, Monik Khan, Faizaan Chowdhary, Suryansh Chowdhary, Praful Singh, Aniket Singh, Shivam Jandyal, Aarav Bhari, Manik Gupta, Rudraksh Sharma, Pranav Salotra, Subal Syal, Naman Modi, Kritarth Suri and Goalkeeper Aditya Manhas. Monik Khan was declared as the best player by scoring three goals during the tournament.
Principal, Maya Mishra presented the vote of thanks and appreciated the efforts of the Coach Rattan Singh and Manjeet Singh, the Teacher Incharge Sonam Manotra and the players.
