JAMMU: In continuation to its effort to promote Indo-Maltese co-operation in the field of education, the University of Malta in association with the High Commission of Malta in India sent a delegation comprising of 20 students and teachers from different schools of India to Malta from 9th to 16th May 2015.
Five students of KC Public School from Classes IX and X, namely, Manvi Gupta, Shreya Mohan, Sahar Rohmetra, Yatiksha Tandon and Aryaman Suri led by Tamana Pandohi, PGT English, were the members of this delegation. They returned to Jammu on 17th May after a busy and engaging tour.
During their stay in Malta, the delegates attended an academic programme related to the field of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation at the renowned faculty of Edward De Bono Institute of Design and Development of Thinking at the University of Malta. The programme gave them the opportunity to learn various tools and techniques to broaden their perception, generate creative ideas, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, critically analyse information and foster innovation and design strategies for a better future. They also interacted with the faculty and senior officials of the university and other government departments besides enjoying some magnificent sightseeing and other thrilling experiences in the historically and culturally rich island nation. Their visit to Microsoft Innovation Centre was in itself quite informative. Cross questioning by the students during the presentation exhibited their curiosity to know how to start up and build up a new idea.
The 2015 delegation was fortunate enough to visit Asia’s largest active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturer Aurobindo Farma located in Malta. The students enjoyed Indian as well as continental cuisine in different restaurants of Malta. Last but not the least, they put up a wonderful show of their presentations by gearing up their creative skills.
