KC Gurukul holds investiture ceremony, opens swimming pool

JAMMU: The investiture ceremony of KC Gurukul Public School Paloura for the academic session 2015-16 was held in a special ceremony on Thursday within the school premises to inculcate the qualities of leadership, discipline and service among the student community.

Danish Rana, IGP Jammu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

KC Gurukul Public School Jammu also understands the importance of games and sports in our lives. The school has introduced a large number of different activities, including swimming which is an important part of the curriculum for the holistic development of a child.

School opened the splash and swimming pool for the session 2015-16 in the school premises. The swimming pool was inaugurated by the Chief Guest.

The momentous ceremony commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp followed by the rendition of the school song by the school choir.

Neera Dogra, Senior Coordinator extended a welcome and introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. She also administered the oath to the newly elected prefectorial body. Sidharth Sharma was elected the Head Boy of the school, Nilza Angmo, the Head Girl, Lovekeshdeep Raina, the Vice Head Boy and Sheita Khanna, Vice Head Girl.

The Chief Guest conferred badges and sashes to the elected students. In his address to the students and community he elaborated on the various ways and means to bring out the best in the students and also brought to light duties of the leaders and how they should set examples as leaders.

Academic Director of the School, Vijay Puri congratulated the newly appointed prefectural body and stressed on the need of inculcating vital qualities like honesty, integrity and hardwork for positions of dignity.

Chairman of KCGPS, Arvind Mahajan in his motivational speech advised the student community to become able leaders by developing leadership qualities, adopting a resilient attitude and being truly dedicated to any task they undertake.

Ganesh Vandana, dance items by the Junior Students and melodious song “All things bright and beautiful” were other highlights of the occasion. Donning the mantle of responsibility the newly elected office bearers pledged to discharge their abilities and abide by the rules and regulations of the school. The somber ceremony finally concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Anju Razdan, Headmistress of the School.
