JAMMU: A symposium on the topic World Aids Day was observed in KC College of Education on Monday. The programme was coordinated by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Deepshikha Gupta who gave information about HIV virus and also shared important facts about AIDS.
Shiva Saproo, a student presented statistical data on HIV. He said AIDS attacks younger generation mostly in the age group of 18-25 years and emphasized that the need of the hour is to educate the masses especially the adolescent by raising awareness on AIDS pandemic caused by HIV.
Principal of the college, Dr. Shamima Bano stated that the solution to prevent spreading of this virus lies in the hands of the educationists who need to create a social vaccine i.e. awareness effective enough to protect the masses from HIV/AIDS.
