Kashmir dispute real cause of ongoing unrest: Sikh bodies

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Expressing serious concern over the ongoing unrest in Kashmir Valley, Sikh organisations said that non resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute is the real cause of entire unrest.
“Restoration of peace and complete resolution of J and K dispute needs to be addressed as per aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” senior Sikh leader, Jaspal Singh Mangal told reporters, here on Saturday.
The communal saffron organisations, he said, instead of initiating a meaningful dialogue process for resolution of J and K dispute, have made Kashmir as a laboratory to pursue their agenda of hatred and communalism.
“We are confident that right of self determination under UN-resolutions promised by both Indian and Pakistan is the most viable solution for J and K dispute,” he said.
He appealed to both India and Pakistan to engage themselves along with people of Jammu and Kashmir in a meaningful and constructive dialogue process for resolution of J and K dispute, restoration of peace and cessation of all sorts of hostilities in Kashmir, so that innocent killings can be stopped. “A delegation of senior Sikh leaders from Jammu will visit Kashmir to assess the humanitarian ground situation and particularly the fate of injured persons in various hospitals of Kashmir and after that a detailed memorandum will be submitted to United Nations, Amnesty International and other Human Rights Organizations to awaken the world community about the plight of Kashmiris and for restoration of peace and resolution of J and K dispute,” he informed.
Narinder Singh Khalsa, Bhai Gurdev Singh, Ranjit Singh, Manmohan Singh Khalsa, Bhai Ram Singh and others were present in the press conference.
