KAS, CGL exam dates clash; NSUI, ABVP seek change

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: National Students Union of India (NSUI) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday asked the J&K Public Service Commission to change the scheduled of the KAS prelim-exams to be held on the 19th of March by a day to avoid non-participation of KAS aspirants who are also appearing for the Staff Selection Committee’s Combined Graduate Level Examination’s Final Level on the same date.
In a statement issued on Monday, NSUI State President Neeraj Kundan appealed to the government to look into the matter and said that it is a matter of concern and puts the career of many talented students in jeopardy.
“PSC is conducting prelims of KAS 2016 on 19th of March and on the same date Staff Selection Commission is conducting CGL examinations, how can the administration except a candidate to appear in two different examinations at the same time, it is a dark joke with all aspirants,” Kundan said.
ABVP State Secretary Varsha Jandial also demands postponement of KAS exam keeping in view the opportunity for students.
She asserted that candidates for both the exams are of almost same criteria and most of the candidates have applied for both the exams.
The government should not take the opportunity from the competitors and let them compete for both the exams by postponing the state level exam, she said.
