SRINAGAR: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, J and K Zone on Tuesday organised awareness campaign to promote Government of India’s flagship public welfare schemes.
The programme named Punarjagaran was inaugurated by Member Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, representatives of several NGOs, officers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and a large number of youth attended the awareness camp.
Speaking on the occasion, the Member Parliament said the people should draw maximum benefit out of the Centre’s flagship public welfare schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Sukanya Samridhi Scheme, Beti Bacho-Beti Padao Yojana, Skill Development Training Programme.
He called for proactive role of NGOs and community leaders in achieving desired results from these schemes.
Karra announced to provide sufficient funds out of his MPLAD fund for strengthening sports infrastructure in district Srinagar.
