Karbalai calls on DyCM, discusses power crisis

JAMMU: Member Legislative Assembly Kargil Asgar Karbalai called on Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh here on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Karbalai discussed the issue of electricity crisis in Kargil and re-organization of technicians in Ladakh region.
Karbalai said that the people of Kargil are suffering these days due to electricity crisis in chilling winter.
He told Dr Nirmal Singh that hydroelectric projects such as Iqbal, Marpo-chu and Haftal in Kargil district have stopped generating power due to freezing of water.
He appealed to Deputy Chief Minister for releasing adequate diesel to resolve power crisis in Kargil.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that soon diesel quota shall be released to overcome the power crisis.
MLA Kargil also discussed the issue of re-organization of technicians in Ladakh region.
He told Dr Nirmal Singh that laboratory, dental, X-ray and other technicians were organised in 2009 in both Jammu and Srinagar but the case of Ladakh is still pending. He urged Deputy CM to re-organise technicians of Ladakh region.
