Karate team selected for nationals

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir State Karate team was selected for Senior National Karate Championship to be held at Panji, Goa on 25th and 26th February, 2107.
The championship is being organised by Karate Association of India (KAI), recognised by Government of India.
The team was selected after seven days karate training camp concluded here, on Tuesday. The training was imparted by Ambedkar Gupta, WKF Qualified Coach. The selected players are Amit Sharma, Wasim Hassan, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Mehra, Anup Singh, Rajan Khajuria, Sahil Singh, Sunil Kumar, Abdul Aziz, Irfan Lone, Digvijay Singh, Ajay Kumar, Anish Atri, Vipan Paul Sharma, Ovais Sheikh, Tanisha Mahajan, Deepa Sharma, Monika GM, Saffa Masoodi, Poonam Salathia, Aarusha Sharma and Azmat Bibi. The team is being accompanied by Gulam Mustafa Mir as Manager and Umesh Rekhi as Assistant Coach. The officials who were present during selection from the J and K State Sports Council were Shiv Kumar Sharma (Joint Secretary), Bilquis Mir (Member), Ravi Singh (Sports Officer) and Satish (Indoor Manager, Stadium).
Shiv Kumar gave best wishes to the players and hope for their best performance in the national competition.
Ambedkar Gupta along with all players and officials of Karate expressed thanks to Waheed Ur Rehman Para, Secretary, J and K State Sports Council for his support.
