JAMMU: Bharat Nagar Welfare Association on Sunday elected Er Kamal Singh as its President while Er Jia Lal Sharma was elected as Vice President.
A meeting of all the sectors of Bharat Nagar Talab Tillo Jammu was held under the chairmanship of Prof J.L Kotwal former President of the Association to nominate the association members.
Others elected include Er K.K Prashar as General Secretary and Rajinder Khajuria as Financial Advisor.
Representation was given to active members of each sector with an advisory to form the Mohalla Committees.
In the meeting, various issues were highlighted by the members like widening of link road from Kamla Palace (Pencil Factory) to Poonch House, up-gradation of drains, unavailability of medical aid, setting of Children Park, water, electricity and installation of banner to stop the entry of heavy vehicles on Kamla Palace Poonch House link road.
In order to make it effective, an advisory committee comprising Advisors Prof Jia Lal Kotwal, Surjit Chopra, Dr M.L Sharma, Bharat Bushan and S.I Koul was elected.
The sector-wise representation was given by voice vote to Vijay Bhagat Sector A, Raman Gupta and Ronak Ram Sharma Sector B, Surinder Kumar Sector C, Ashok Khajuria and Khushi Ram Sharma Sector D, A.K Bhat Sector D Ext, S.K Khajuria Sector E Ext, S.K Aima Sector E and Vinod Pandita Sector F.
