Justice Virender to take oath as Jharkhand CJ on Nov 1

JAMMU: The senior most Judge of J and K High Court, Justice Virender Singh who was elevated as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court will take oath as 10th Chief Justice (CJ) of Jharkhand High Court on 1st November 2014.
Meanwhile, J and K High Court Bar Association, Jammu on Monday accorded farewell to Justice Virender Singh on his transfer to Jharkhand High Court as Chief Justice. Justice Virender Singh keeping in view the catastrophe caused by the floods in the State had shown his unwillingness to take any farewell party and instead visited Bar Room, High Court Complex for a cup of tea during the lunch break. While appreciating the humane approach in dispensation of justice in the past seven and a half years adopted by Justice Singh, President J and K High Court Bar Association described him as a person with integrity and righteousness. While recalling his time spent in the State High Court, Justice Singh appreciated the role of advocates and fellow Judges in maintaining a cordial relationship of Bench and Bar and its role in justice dispensation to the most deserving and poor people of the far flung and remote areas. A bouquet was also presented to Justice as a mark of love and respect by the office bearers. JNF
