JU Vice-Chancellor stresses on quality education

KATHUA: Vice- Chancellor University of Jammu, Prof R.D Sharma said that conduct, character and commitment of students are more important for acquiring better education.
Speaking at the interaction meet organised here at Government Degree College Kathua, Prof Sharma stressed on Quality Education adding that the students must avail all the opportunities provided to them for their academic growth. He highlighted the achievements of University of Jammu particularly A+ Grade earned by the University during NAAC Accreditation. He congratulated the students for undergoing their degree course from a high profile university i.e, University of Jammu.
Students of the college while interacting with Prof Sharma asked him questions related to variation in evaluation. They also requested him to inculcate more number of co-curricular activities in curriculum. Vote of thanks was presented by the Principal of the College, Prof Assa Ram Sharma. Earlier, NCC- Cadets of the college presented an impressive Guard of Honour to the Vice- Chancellor. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia.
Prof Sharma also interacted with the NSS volunteers of the college who are celebrating the Swachhta Pakhwara to clean the college campus and surroundings.
He also planted a sapling in the campus and motivated the students to go for plantation drive to avoid environment degradation. Among others who were present include Dr. P.K Rao, Prof Anirudh Sharma, Prof Jasvinder Singh, Prof Shub Kumar, Prof. Sandeep Chaudhary, Prof Parveen Sharma, Dr. Balwinder Singh, Prof. Rajesh Chalotra, Prof. Shikha, Prof. Manmohan Singh, Dr. Pankaj Gupta and Dr. Kehar Singh.
