JU NSS units organise Swachhta Abhiyan

JAMMU: As part of series of events organised to observe Swachhta Pakhwara, the National Service Scheme (NSS), Campus Units, University of Jammu organised Swachhta Abhiyan in the girls hostels of the university.
About 95 students from Priyadarshini Girls Hostel, Chanderbhaga Girls Hostel and Sarojini Naidu Girls Hostel participated in the Abhiyan.
Before the start of cleanliness drive, Prof. Jasbir Singh, Chairman, NSS Campus Units welcomed the participants and guests and the senior NSS volunteer administered the Swachhta Shapath (Oath).
Students took oath to educate about 100 persons to undertake cleanliness in and around their localities and houses and to take forward the mission of Mahatma Gandhi.
Students assured that they will keep their campus clean and would be undertaking such activities on regular basis. The drive was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Gurjit Kour and Prof. Shashi Manhas, wardens of the hostels while the event was coordinated by Dr. Anju Thappa, Programme Officer, NSS whereas Dr. Anupama Vohra , Associate Dean, Students Welfare was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The senior NSS volunteer, Jasveer Singh, Veer Singh and Shiv Dutt were also present on the occasion.
