JU loses to star-studded Amity

JAMMU: The formidable side of University of Jammu (JU) could not resist the pressure mounted by the star-studded hosts, Amity University and lost in tie-breaker in the ongoing North Zone Inter-University Football Tournament at Noida in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
As per the reports reaching here, JU held Amity to 1-1 draw in the stipulated time but could not beat the opponent in the penalties, the reason being hosts were playing with three foreigners, Emmauel (Nigeria), Kapango (Congo) and Sandesh Suba (Iraq).
Earlier, in the given time, Amity took the first lead in the seventh minute with Emmauel netting the ball. However, the score was levelled by Ravi in the 13th minute to the surprise of strong Amity defence.
Later, in tie-breaker, Shivam, Dharampaul and Ajay successfully converted their kicks into goal while Ravi and Gagan missed the target.
