JSM merges with BJP; Cong ex-Mayor too joins

JAMMU: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) under its President Prof. Varinder Gupta merged with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.
Others who joined BJP include Congress former–Mayor and a prominent Jat leader Manmohan Singh Choudhary along with his supporters.
The new entrants were welcomed into the party fold by BJP State President and Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP and J and K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna, Election Campaign Committee Chairman Dr. Nirmal Singh, State Vice-President Vibodh Gupta, State General Secretary Kavinder Gupta, State spokespersons Farooq Khan and Sunil Sethi, BJYM Ex-National President Ram Ashok Rai, Jammu-Poonch Prabhari Yudhvir Sethi and other senior leaders at a function held here on Friday.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while welcoming the new entrants, said that more and more people are joining BJP as Narendra Modi wave has made them realise that BJP is the need of the hour and parties like Congress, NC and PDP need to be shown the door for policies which resulted into mis-governance, nepotism, corruption, discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh etc.
He said that the people across the state are looking towards BJP with high hopes and we extend our sincere assurance that we shall come up to their expectations after BJP form its government.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that BJP has been receiving overwhelming response in all the three regions of the state and our mission 44+ is now heading towards 54+ and the party assures to end dynastic rule, give good governance and corruption free administration. He said that BJP assures the judicious, equal and impartial utilization of Central funds and making the state a model.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the party is going to sweep the ensuing polls and NC, Congress, JKNPP and PDP are going to be part of history.
Farooq Khan said that the wave for change is going to write a new chapter in J-K and it will be the strong repost to those who have been running their shops on the name of Kashmir.
Party spokesman Sunil Sethi said that the BJP Parivar is expanding and getting more strengthened with the joining of people of high stature and this process is going to accelerate. He expressed hope that the people joining BJP will reach the masses with party’s principles and programmes and mobilise their support.
Manmohan Choudhary said that his decision to join BJP is the outcome of the inspiration by the honest approach of Narendra Modi for development. Modi’s quick action during floods and NDA’s immediate strong retaliation of the Pakistani firing and commitment towards the cause of refugees are appreciable, he said and added that it is the BJP only which can bail out the state from problems and sufferings.
Prof. Varinder Gupta assured to work wholeheartedly to ensure the victory of BJP candidates. He said that anger and resentment against the pro-Kashmir parties is growing massively and appealed his colleagues to put more efforts to help the party achieve its mission.
Yudhvir Sethi said that the BJP has become a popular name among the people of the state irrespective of their religion, region, caste and creed.
JKNPP leader Anil Parihar, social activists Pawan Kumar Sharma, JJSF former President Naveen Sharma, DySP (retd) Vijay Gupta, also joined BJP alongwith supporters.
BJP State Secretary Munish Sharma conducted the proceedings of the function.
