Jodhamal School wins opening match of Soccer C’ship

JAMMU: Jodhamal Public School registered emphatic win in the inaugural match of the ‘Khelo Khel-Bhulo Nasha’ Jammu Soccer Championship, organised by the District Police Jammu under the Civic Action Programme of J and K Police at Parade Ground, here on Tuesday.
In the opening match, Jodhamal School defeated Army Public School (APS) Akhnoor by three goals to nil.
The goals were scored by Akshit Verma in 12th minute, 37th minute and 50th minute of the game.
Earlier, the tournament in which ten schools namely APS Akhnoor, Jodhamal Public School, Little Flower School, Living Bethel School, BSF School Paloura, Heritage School, JP World School, KV Bantalab School, KV-2 Cantt. School and KC Public School are participating was inagurtaed by the Chief Guest, Ashkoor Ahmad Wani, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Jammu.
He was accompanied by Incharge SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar and SP Headquarters Jammu Ramesh Kotwal.
DIG said that there is the need of hour to aware the young children about the drug menace which is increasing day by day in society so that they may not derail from the mainstream.
The DIG also appealed to the participating students to be aware about their surrounding places and if they found anyone taking drug or supplying drug to anyone informed the police, school administration or parents so that the culprits be booked and dealt with stringent manners.
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of Incharge SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar. The Organising team includes Ramesh Kotwal SP Headquarter, Sugandha Mahajan Dy.SP Headquarters, Gourav Mahajan Dy SP DAR, Ragubhir Singh SHO Nowabad.
The officials of the inaugural match were Rahul Sharma, Dheeraj Menia, Moon Stephan and Neetika. The proceedings of the inauguration function were conducted by Dy SP Sugandha Mahajan.
Tomorrow’s Fixtures: 1. Bethel Living School v/s BSF Paloura at 9:30 AM; KV-2 Cant. v/s KC Public School at 10:30 AM; Jodhamal Public School v/s Little Flower School at 12:15 PM.
