JAMMU: The football team of Jodhamal School performed well in the recently held District level Inter-School Football Tournament organised by Youth Services and Sports Department. A total of 22 teams participated across Jammu and Jodhamal lifted the Champions Trophy.
The team comprised of Devesh Sharma, Jagjyot Singh, Paarth Johri, Subrat Sharma, Eshaan Gupta, Prerak Bist ( Captain ), Anirudh Thakur, Shivam Kaith, Akshat Gupta, Nikunj Rakesh, Anindhya Mahajan, Ali Afridi, Ahmed Ziya, Banpreet Singh, Hardik Aggarwal, Hardik Gupta, Rudraksh Sharma, Sahil Atri( Vice Captain) and Aryan Katal. The team was coached by Balwinder Kumar.
In the first match Jodhamal got a walk over and entered in the second match against Model Academy in which Jodhamal won in a one sided match with two goals to zero.
In the third match Jodhamal was pitched against APS Miransahib and again Jodhamal emerged victorious by one goal to zero.
In the fourth and the semifinals JMPS was pitched against APS Damana and again Jodhamal thrashed APS Damana with one goal to nil and made it up to the finals.
In the finals, Jodhamal played an exciting match against MHAC Nagbani. Right from the beginning it was a tooth and nail fight till the half time and in the second half MHAC managed to score the first goal of the match which was very fast equalised by Eshan Gupta of Jodhamal in the stoppage time making the game enter into the tie breaker.
In the penalties Jodhamal emerged victorious by scoring four goals to three. Penalty converters Prerak Bist, Ali Afridi, Anandiya Mahajan and Nikunj Rakesh were appreciated by one and all. In the entire tournament Jodhamal conceded only one goal and scored five goals in all to make it to the top.
The Principal, Trilok Singh Bist congratulated the coach and the team members for their brilliant performance.
