JMC for providing basic amenities to Ward No 71

JAMMU: On the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Manmohan Singh and under the supervision of R.S Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC and accompanied by Imran Malik, Liasion Officer, Chief Minister Grievance Cell, visited Ward No. 71 which comprising of two areas viz. Tawi Vihar which is a well planned colony and other is Asrarabad which is unplanned colony and lacks basic amenities like sanitation, development of roads, lanes/drains.
The area came under the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation in the 2008 being the extension of Ward No 71. The residents were approaching time and again in JMC for providing them the basic facilities so that their sufferings can be mitigated.
Keeping in view their constant demands, JMC conducted an extensive tour during which the concerned officers took stock of their grievances and assured them that authorities will put its every possible efforts to redress their genuine demands by deploying men and machinery and well construction of lanes and drains.
During the course of tour, on spot directions were issued to the concerned officers to prepare proper outlay for installing dustbins, street lights, construction of lanes/drains so that the residents of Asrarabad could be eased of their present problems which they are facing a lot due to lack of basic facilities.
Jamwal further directed the concerned officers to publish a notice in the newspapers with respect to the open plots which have been converted into dumping points by the inhabitants and in case the owners of the such plots fails to do so in that case JMC will take action in respect of the same.
During the tour the officers accompanied the Joint Commissioner (A), JMC were Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (W), Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, Satish Wali, Exetuvie Engineer (T), JMC, Talat Mehmood Khan, Chief Transport Officer and field staff.
