JAMMU: To spread the message of Green Earth, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in collaboration with Social Forestry, Jammu, M/s Samaya Group and 17 Miles continued its feiv-day MEGA plantation drive under the campaign ‘Each One Plant One’ with the planter taking the charge of the sapling and ensuring its care.
On the 4th day, 11 schools/institutions are covered and around 2,000 plants were planted.
The students of DPS, Jammu, Government Hari Singh Higher School, Idgah Road and Government Higher Secondary School Bazar Qasaba, Gujjar Nagar, Government High School, Resham Ghar, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bakshi Nagar, Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bakshi Nagar, Government Dental College, MC Khalsa College of Education, Chand Nagar, Government SRML Model Higher Secondary School, DBN Mubarakh Mandi, Jammu participated with great enthusiasm and adopted the plants.
A painting competition and programme on Van Mahotsav was organised at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu and prizes were distributed amongst the winners.
A memento was presented to Principal of Government Medical College, Jammu Prof. Dr. Zahid Gillani by Assisatant Commissioner (Rev) Subah Mehta.
Meanhwile, a plantation drive was also organised in the lawns of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College and Hospital Jammu in collaboration with the Jammu Municipal Corporation Jammu, with Samay Group and 17 Miles.
