JMC conducts drive against unhygienic meat

JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) discarded about 15 kg of unhygienic meat and realized as Rs. 8900 as fine from the defaulters.
The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zafar Iqbal, on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Mandeep Kaur, conducted a drive against the unhygienic meat in the areas of Jewel, Gujjar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Gangyal etc.
While checking about quintals of meat was checked in different areas and about 15 kg of unhygienic was discarded in proper hygienic way at suitable place and fine to the tune of Rs. 8,900 has been realized from the defaulters.
The drive will remain continue in near future against all the food establishments/ shopkeepers running in the market are strictly warned and directed to ensure the supply of good quality of meat to the citizens of Jammu City.
