JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) in collaboration with Sports Authority of India (SAI) has initiated two-month special coaching programme (Special Certificate Course) in Sports Coaching aiming at increasing the strength of those qualified trainees in the State. In this regard applications have been invited from those interested candidates from Jammu and Kashmir. The application, on plain paper, along with Xerox copies of age, academic qualification, state subject, sports certificates duly attested, should reach JKSSC office at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar on or before 26th August. To qualify for the course, a candidate must be 10+2 pass with any of the first three positions at the district level or participation at the state or university level and the age between 20 and 40 years to become eligible, an official source informed. Those in-service PETs, who want to specialise in certain sports discipline should also apply. The selected sports disciplines for which applications have been invited included Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Fencing, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Swimming, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Health and Fitness and Wushu.
This two months specially designed coaching programme shall be conducted by the National Institute of Sports (NIS) Patiala during this year.
