JAMMU: J&K’s talented Speedster Yudhvir Singh Charak has got the nod of National Selection Committee led by Chairman Ajit Agarkar to join the Team India Camp as a net bowler for the upcoming Bangladesh Test Series, commencing with the first Test from September 19, 2024 at Chennai.
Yudhvir has been asked to join the India squad at Chennai on September 12, 2024.
Yudhvir displayed extraordinary skill in all the three formats of Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while representing Jammu and Kashmir at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI’s) domestic circuit, besides performing brilliantly in the recently held All India Buchi Babu Multi-day Invitational Cricket Tournament, organised by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
“It is a great opportunity. I will leave no stone unturned to grab this opportunity with both hands and impress the national selectors. I am highly thankful to BCCI and JKCA for keeping faith in me. I accredit this success to the facilities provided by the Administrators of JKCA at all the levels. A big number of matches at the local level and in exposure tours before the BCCI’s official tours helped me a lot in fine-tuning my skill,” said Yudhvir after his selection.
“Yudhvir is a special talent and his selection as net bowler for Team India is a proud moment for the entire cricketing fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from being a good fast bowler, Yudhvir is a useful explosive lower-order batter. We wish him the best of luck,” said Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations and Development JKCA.
Brig Anil Gupta, Member-Administration JKCA and Sunil Sethi, Member Legal Affairs JKCA also congratulated Yudhvir Singh Charak for this achievement.
Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, will be back in the whites to play a two-match home Test series against Bangladesh. The first India vs Bangladesh Test is scheduled to commence from September 19 (Thursday) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
