JAMMU: Cognitive development means how children think, explore and figure out things. It is the development of knowledge, skills and dispositions, which help children to think about and understand the world around them.
In this regards, JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi conducted various activities among the prep wing students to develop cognitive skills.
The cognitive development of preschoolers happens most readily through play-based activities, which makes teaching in all the preschool developmental areas all the more important.
Different activities like Play board games, flashcard games, stacking and building games , wooden blocks, jigsaw puzzles , pattern recognition worksheets, shapes and colours identification blocks etc were organised to improve logical reasoning, critical thinking , problem solving skills, retention power and Motor skills of little toddlers.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah said, “The first few years of a child’s life is critical to their overall growth and development, that is why we are concerned about the cognitive skills of jakiians. Moreover ,It is important for child’s thought processing, problem-solving and decision making abilities.”
