JKPS Kunjwani organises workshop on effective communication for school faculty

JAMMU: “Effective communication is need of the hour & it is the bridge between confusion and clarity”.
With reference to this thought, JK Public School (JKPS) Kunjwani organized a workshop on the importance of effective communication for its school faculty.
The objective of the workshop was to encourage the teachers to use effective communication skills and strategies as good communication is sine qua non for being an effective teacher.
Founder Director of the Carpe Diem Educational Foundation, Seema Abrol was the resource person for the session. She has been in the Educational Industry for more than two decades with a proven track record.
The programme commenced with the welcome address by Principal JKPS Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore. He emphasized on the importance of English language, which has become a bare necessity in today’s highly competitive world.
“It’s diversified roles, as an International language, link language for the country, library language, business language for the Corporate world & many other features have made it the most sought-after language of the world. Even many Oriental countries like, China, Japan, Korea etc got compelled to run the courses Masters in English in their universities”, he summed up.
In the session, resource person Seema laid stress on the importance of good communication skills and the barrier to the communication. She emphasized on the fact that the ability to communicate information effectively, accurately, clearly and as intended is a vital skill for teaching profession. It’s what enables a teacher to pass information to other people and to understand what is said. She also deliberated upon the 7Cs of communication i.e. to be clear, concise, concrete, correct, coherent, complete and courteous. Incorporating these 7Cs definitely yield the desired results.
Through various fun-filled activities like Chinese Whisper and Role Play, she involved all the teachers. It was an interactive session for teachers and they participated with great energy and enthusiasm.
She accentuated on the need to give such platform and exposure to the students for all round development of their personalities. She shared that effective communication skills is a key factor in deciding our success in professional as well as personal life.
More than 80 teachers from Toddlers, Primary, Middle and Senior Wing attended the session. All the attendees left the venue with innumerable take aways.
