JAMMU: JK Public School Kunjwani nurtures the inquisitive minds. To hone this talent of the students an Inter-School English Quiz Competition was organized under the banner of Jammu Sahodaya, by JK Public School Kunjwani on Saturday in eight different rounds.
Students from 29 different top notched CBSE schools participated in this prestigious competition.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was K.C.S Mehta, Mentor Jammu Sahodaya and Academic Director IDPS Akhnoor. K.L Dogra Secretary Finance, Jammu Sahodaya and Principal MV International and Ranju Malhotra, Secretary (Media & Information), JSSC and Principal DBN Amarvilla were the Guests of Honour.
Other dignitaries present were Director JK Educational Society Shashi Chaudhary, Principal JK Public School, Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore, Vice Principal Roopinder Kour and School Coordinator Inderjeet Kour.
Principal JK Public School Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore welcomed the dignitaries and the participating schools, and wished them good luck with a belief that all the teams would give a tough competition to each other.
He also laid emphasis on the importance of English as a link language, a business language and a library language in the world.
The quiz started with a first ‘Elimination-Round’ in which 30 questions were given to all participants. They were required to answer them in 20 minutes.
In the process eight schools were shortlisted. After that, there were total nine rounds based on testing of Spellings, Synonyms, Antonyms, One Word Substitution, Identify the Ant, Identify the Idiom, Identify the Proverb, Conversion of Derivatives and finally the Rapid Fire Round.
Results were compiled simultaneously on the green board. The first position was secured by Army Public School Samba, second position was bagged by Stephan International School and third position by MV International School, Samba.
Consolation prizes were bagged by KC International School, JK Public School and Shaurya International School Jammu.
The Quiz masters for the day were Manju Wali from Model Academy School Jammu and Harneet Kour from JK Public School Kunjwani. Both were felicitated by the Principal Rajesh Rathore.
This competition was indeed an enriching experience for the participants and the audience as well, thereby providing ample scope of learning and exploration of new ideas, facts and knowledge for the students.
The audience also played along and answered most of the passed questions and enjoyed the quiz to the fullest. Vote of Thanks was presented by the Vice Principal Roopinder Kour.
