JKPS Kunjwani hosts Inter-school English Language Quiz Contest 2024-25 under aegis of Jammu Sahodaya

JAMMU: JK Public School Kunjwani nurtures inquisitive minds. To hone the talent of the students an Inter-School English Language Quiz Contest was organized under the aegis of Jammu Sahodaya, by JK Public School Kunjwani on 18 January 2025 through nine different rounds. Students from 14 different top notch CBSE schools participated in this prestigious competition.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr Vikesh Kaur, President Jammu Sahodaya & Principal Doon International School, Jammu, whereas the Guests of Honour were Mr K.C.S Mehta, Mentor, JSSC & Academic Director, IDPS Akhnoor; Dr. Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Mentor JSSC & Principal, Model Academy; Ms Ranju Malhotra, Vice President JSSC & Principal DBN Amarvilla and Ms. Neetu Gupta, Secretary Finance JSSC & Principal SNS Vidaya Mandir.
The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour were presented with mementos as a token of gratitude by the Principal JKPS Kunjwani. Each esteemed guest addressed the gathering, motivating the students to participate in more such events. They also applauded the school’s efforts in providing a valuable platform for students, contributing to the advancement of education in Jammu & Kashmir State.
Other dignitaries present on this occasion were Principal JK Public School, Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore, Vice Principal Roopinder Kaur and School Coordinator Inderjeet Kaur.
Principal JK Public School Rathore welcomed the dignitaries and the participating schools. He wished them good luck with a belief that all the teams would give a tough competition to each other. He also laid emphasis on the importance of English as a link language, a business language and a library language in the world.
The Quiz started with an ‘Elimination-Round’, wherein 30 questions were given to all the teams to be answered in 20 minutes. In the process, eight schools were shortlisted. After that, there were a total nine rounds based on testing of Spellings, Synonyms, Antonyms, One Word Substitution, Identify the Ant, Identify the Idiom, Identify the Proverb, Conversion of Derivatives and finally the Rapid Fire Round.
Results were compiled simultaneously on the Scoreboard. The first position was secured by Stephens International Public School Jammu, the second position was clinched by JK Public School, Kunjwani and the third position was lifted by Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua. The Consolation prizes were bagged by MV International School, Carmel Convent School and Army Public School, Nagrota respectively.
The Quiz masters for the day were Harneet Kour and Tina Narula. Both of them conducted the Quiz brilliantly and were felicitated by the Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore.
This competition was indeed an enriching experience for the participants and the audience as well, thereby providing ample scope of learning and exploration of new ideas, facts and knowledge for the students. The audience also played along and answered most of the passed questions and enjoyed the quiz to the fullest. Vote of Thanks was presented by the Head girl of the school Ananya.
