JAMMU: The JK Public School Kunjwani bagged the football title in the ongoing Sportathon Cup 2016, organised by KC Sports Club (KCSC) at its stadium, here on Tuesday.
In the final, JK Pubic School defeated KC Public School (KCPS) 5-3 via tie-breaker. Earlier, in the stipulated time the match ended in a 1-1 draw forcing the organisers to decide the fate of the all important game through penalties.
In tie-breaker, JKPS netted six goals as against two by KCPS. For JKPS, Reyan, Hiteshwar, Manik, Sanjeev and Aditya were the scorers while Namandeep, Ali Khan and Vardan Dutt scored for KCPS. The final was officiated by the technical panel comprising Suresh Gupta, Ricky, Elizha Sotra and Rocky.
CRICKET: Meanwhile, in ongoing Indoor cricket tournament, KC Public School outplayed Delhi Public School (DPS) by eight runs. Batting first, KCPS made 28 runs losing all their wickets in 9.3 overs of the 10 overs game.
No batsman could touch the double figure mark with Tazeem (nine) being top scorer. For DPS, Hasnain and Musaif took three and two wickets respectively.
Later, DPS was bowled out for 20 runs in 8.4 overs. Musaif was the top scorer with 11 runs. For KCPS, Sampark and Praful shared two wickets each.
SKATING: In Skating, KC Public bagged the overall first place with eight gold, five silver and two bronze medals while KC International remained runners-up securing three gold and four bronze medals in various events. The JK Public School was overall third earning with two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
